Biography

After his graduation in 2003, Dimitri worked for 6 months on a project regarding science communication with Pieter Maeseele and prof. dr. Hans Verstraeten at Ghent University. Afterwards he worked a year as project and communication manager at Isabellapolder. In November 2005 he started working for research group MICT (Media & ICT) at Ghent University.

Dimitri´s research mainly involves ICT innovation. He focusses on the way the user can be involved within innovation methods and techniques (lead user method, Living Labs, panel studies,…), and especially which user to use at what stage within the innovation process, rather than simply involving 'the user'. Furthermore, he devotes special attention to the specific role of media content within the process of adoption and diffusion of ICTs.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) games, digital TV and mobile TV. He is preparing a PhD with the working title: “User-centered ICT-innovation: towards a methodological toolbox on which user to involve at what stage during ICT-innovation in Living Lab-contexts.”
