Biography

In 2005, Evelien De Waele-De Guchtenaere graduated as Master in Communication Sciences at Ghent University. Her thesis dealt with ‘Marketing strategies from newspapers focussing on readers in Flanders’.

After she graduated, Evelien worked for over a year as an account manager for Manager Magazines, published by Big Media Group. Simultaneous she obtained an initial academic teaching degree in Political en Social Sciences. In March 2007 Evelien joined MICT as a junior researcher. Since September 2007, Evelien has been functioning also as a research coordinator at MICT and therefore she’s the person to address to.

Evelien’s interests are situated in the domain of the print media. The ADME (‘Advertising in a digital media environment’) project she worked on, matches this perfectly. Beside this, Evelien worked on several projects such as ASO (Analogue Switch-off), Broadband & Culture, MonIT, IFIP and Teleclassing. She was also involved in finalising the first MICT-survey. The central question in this survey was the way people handle new communication technologies in Flanders.
