Frederik De Grove

Biography
In 2010, Frederik De Grove obtained a master’s degree in Communication Sciences at Ghent University. In his master’s thesis, he researched digital games in education. More specifically, it focused on the game PING (Poverty Is Not A Game); an educational game that aims to raise awareness regarding the mechanisms underlying poverty.
Since September 2010 he is part of the MICT team where he actively works on projects on digital games in a cultural or educational context. Moreover, since October 2011, he is working on a PhD (BOF mandate) exploring the role of digital games in the everyday life of people. This research project is a cooperation between the research groups CREATIVE and MICT.
